The Company
ECCBC is The Coca-Cola Company’s bottling partner in North and West Africa. Its teams produce, market, and distribute more than 20 beverage brands, with a presence in 13 countries and over 250,000 retail locations.
In a rapidly evolving environment spanning multiple countries and entities, ECCBC is pursuing a clear goal: to enhance its operational efficiency and better manage its strategic priorities across the Group.
Challenges & Objectives
To support its transformation efforts, ECCBC launched the Horizon project in 2025 with one key objective: to make the implementation of the Group’s priorities more visible, more consistent, and more actionable.
The initial assessment was clear: the complexity of the initiatives had outstripped the capacity to manage them. The projects were moving forward, but without a sufficiently structured common framework to:
- align priorities,
- compare initiatives,
- allocate resources,
- and drive value creation across the Group.
Through Horizon, ECCBC aims to:
- standardize Project & Portfolio Management and Change Management practices;
- align projects with the Group's strategic priorities;
- better manage capacity, resources, risks, and performance;
- facilitate the implementation of changes on the ground;
- implement a common framework while respecting local realities;
- equip teams with the right tools, templates, and governance mechanisms.
The Pillars of the Horizon Project
The Horizon project is based on four complementary pillars:
1. Portfolio Management
Structure portfolios to prioritize, balance, and align transformation initiatives with ECCBC’s strategic objectives.
2. Deployment frameworks
Deploy PPM and Change Management frameworks at scale, with a focus on adoption, communication, and local support.
3. Tool implementation
Implement Tabsters as a common platform for portfolio, project, and change management across the Group.
4. Governance & Monitoring
Establish clear governance, KPIs, dashboards, and feedback loops to track adoption and performance.
How to Use Tabsters
Use cases
As part of the Horizon project, Tabsters enables ECCBC to:
- structure the management of its transformation portfolios;
- implement a common governance framework across the Group;
- make projects more visible and comparable across countries and levels of complexity;
- deploy PPM and Change Management frameworks in a single environment;
- consolidate data, metrics, and reports;
- support widespread adoption through a shared, scalable, and actionable tool.
What has already been implemented
The Horizon project has already produced high-value, foundational deliverables:
- development of standardized PPM and change management frameworks;
- definition of project complexity levels;
- analysis of workload and capacity across teams;
- development of over 50 PPM & CM templates ready for deployment;
- implementation of a centralized SharePoint hub;
- Selection of Tabsters as a scalable tool to extend management capabilities across the Group.
The benefits
With Horizon and Tabsters, ECCBC is laying the groundwork for more structured, transparent, and sustainable management:
- more consistent governance across 13 countries;
- greater visibility into transformation initiatives;
- an enhanced ability to prioritize and make trade-offs;
- a shared framework for linking strategy, execution, and adoption;
- reusable templates and methods to speed up deployments;
- a shared platform for tracking projects, the portfolio, and change management;
- a transformation that is more visible, more manageable, and more actionable over time.
