Lessons Learned from the SNCF Group: Structuring the Management of R&D Projects

‍

The morning began with a presentation by Frédérick GETTON, Director of Finance and Institutional Relations / Technology, Innovation, and Projects Division at the SNCF Group.

In his presentation, he discussed the challenges faced by the SNCF in managing its R&D projects within a large-scale organization that requires effective coordination, reliable data consolidation, and visibility at multiple levels.

His presentation provided an opportunity to review the reasons behind the decision to choose Tabsters, the key stages of the rollout, and the use cases developed for tracking projects, budgets, and reporting.

A real-world example of how to establish a shared management framework capable of meeting the operational needs of teams while supporting the governance requirements of a large organization.

A new version of Tabsters Unveiled in a Preview

‍

The highlight of this year's event: the presentation of the new version of Tabsters by Gisèle NOJEAN, Associate Director of Product and Customer Operations.

Unveiled for the first time to our community, this new version marks an important milestone in the solution’s evolution, centered on three key areas:

  • A redesigned interface, featuring modernized navigation and an even more intuitive user experience.
  • AI is at the heart of the product, designed to make it easier to access information, automate certain tasks, and save users time.
  • Enhanced management, thanks to new features, enriched visualizations, and more customization options.

This presentation gave participants a hands-on look at the latest developments in Tabsters and the new opportunities they offer for the day-to-day management of projects, programs, and portfolios.

Initial user feedback has been particularly encouraging, with words such as “promising,” “intuitive,” “modern,” “user-friendly,” and “comprehensive” used to describe this new version.

Supporting Users Through Change

‍

Because a major update to the solution also brings about changes in work practices, Ophélie DELANNOY, Project Manager at Tabsters, continued the morning session with a presentation focused on change management. The goal: to present the approach implemented to facilitate the transition to this new version, help users learn about the new features, and encourage them to incorporate these features into their daily workflows.

This interactive session also gave participants a chance to speak, allowing them to share their first impressions, express their expectations, and ask questions directly to the Tabsters teams.

This is a crucial opportunity for dialogue to prepare for this transition in a way that best meets our customers’ needs and to continue developing the solution together with them.

Our Approach and AI Solutions: New Perspectives for Management

‍

To wrap up the morning's presentations, Laurent BOURNY, CEO and co-founder of Tabsters, presented our approach and offerings in the field of artificial intelligence.

In addition to the new features integrated into Tabsters, this session provided an opportunity to discuss the role of AI in project, program, and portfolio management, as well as the possibilities it offers for supporting teams in their day-to-day activities.

Automating certain tasks, leveraging available information, and supporting analysis and decision-making: these are all ways to simplify users' work and allow them to focus more on high-value-added activities.
