For more than 70 years, Groupe Premium has been a major player in the distribution of capital goods, industrial solutions, and technical services in sub-Saharan Africa and Morocco. Through its specialized subsidiaries and partnerships with leading international brands, Groupe Premium offers a wide range of solutions, including industrial equipment, construction and public works equipment, construction machinery, mining equipment, material handling and lifting solutions, trucks, generators, spare parts, industrial maintenance, multi-brand after-sales service, equipment rental, and fleet management.
Against a backdrop of growth, business diversification, and the gradual structuring of support functions, Groupe Premium chose Tabsters in 2025 to lay the groundwork for a more structured approach to portfolio management within its IT department.
As it continued to grow, Groupe Premium needed to establish a structured approach to managing its portfolio of IT and non-IT projects within the IT department.
Before Tabsters was implemented, project tracking relied exclusively on Excel. While this approach allowed for the centralization of certain information, it was no longer sufficient to meet the growing needs for visibility, prioritization, and management.
The lack of dedicated tools, structured reporting, and a common methodology limited the IT department’s ability to gain a clear overview of projects, their progress, and priorities. The PMO was also in the process of being established, with a need to gradually put in place a more robust project governance framework.
The challenge, therefore, was to implement a simple, scalable, and rapidly deployable solution capable of supporting the team as it developed its skills without requiring a overly burdensome change management process.
Groupe Premium selected Tabsters for its ability to offer an off-the-shelf solution that is easy to use and can be up and running quickly. The rollout began on a deliberately limited scale, with a small number of users, primarily within the IT department and the future PMO. The goal of this phased approach was to ensure successful adoption, minimize the need for change management, and allow teams to build their skills step by step.
Tabsters provides Groupe Premium with a shared environment for tracking its projects, consolidating information, and providing greater transparency for both teams and management. The solution supports the IT department in transitioning from Excel-based tracking to a more structured, collaborative, and easily actionable management approach. It also lays the groundwork for a PMO by gradually introducing common practices, reporting, and a portfolio view.
