The Company

Founded in 1855, Richardson is a firm that has continued to evolve.

Starting as a distributor of metals for the shipbuilding industry, the company quickly shifted its focus to selling supplies for plumbers and heating engineers, eventually becoming one of France’s leading distributors of plumbing, heating, and HVAC equipment, bathroom fixtures, tiles, and plastics.

With over 300,000 products from 200 leading brands, Richardson serves customers in the heating, air conditioning, bathroom, plumbing, and renewable energy sectors, placing human expertise, service, and local presence at the heart of its commitment.

Challenges & Objectives

The Challenge

Richardson launched the DELTA program for IT transformation. Within this program, the BIRD project—the deployment of a new ERP system—is a major initiative requiring rigorous monitoring of development and implementation across 37 Business Units (BUs).

To support this transformation, Richardson sought to streamline its management processes by implementing a portfolio and project management tool.

Key Issues
  • Scheduling management, tracking deliverables, and optimizing the capacity plan to ensure the program runs smoothly.
  • Before adopting Tabsters, the client had to manage a complex monitoring process across 12 streams, which involved time-consuming data consolidation, a lack of macro- and micro-level visibility, and high risks of missed deadlines due to the absence of a unified management tool.

Selection process

Richardson evaluated several solutions on the market before settling on Tabsters.
