How do you position a dependency between two elements?

You can place a dependency between two elements in the table and planning views.

1. In table display

To create a dependency from a table view, you will need the key of the object of the element with which you want to create the dependency.

  1. Right-click on the item on which you want to place a dependency.
  2. The dependency settings pop-up opens.
  3. Select the dependency type: Previous dependency or Next dependency
  4. Enter the key for the dependent element object in the corresponding column.

Once you have finished configuring the settings, click on Validate.

💡 Tip:
You can also create a dependency from your roadmap by adding the columns Previous dependencies and Next dependencies.
Clicking on one of these columns will open the same settings pop-up.

2. In schedule display
  1. Hover your mouse over the bar for the relevant item: two black dots will appear at either end.
  2. Click on the point corresponding to the desired dependency type (previous or next) and hold down the click.
  3. Move your mouse to the target element's bar.
  4. Position yourself at the desired point at one of its ends.
  5. Release the left mouse button.
  6. Click " OK" in your browser's message to confirm the dependency.

Dependencies are shown in the schedule by arrows between the different elements.
